After HD install everything ( after manual installation of wireless drivers ralink ) everything is going well, except.... no sound. All I hear is a beep from the motherboard form time to time....
I don't no what I am suppused to do, am I missing an audio driver? If so where do I get it?
Here are some command to give some info about th machine:
uname -a

Welcome aboard HFont; just to be sure, you did check alsamixer to see if any cards showed up.
(I had an HP with Intel & had to use a later sound driver than came with 2.6.32.)

I updated to kernel 3.2 from the backport repositories... Working like a charm... Thanks for helping me out junkie! I hope I can fulfil this task of helping out others very soon...
Any chance anybody knows how to turn of the beeps from my motherboard? (ex it beeps when I try to enter a number with the numpad but the numlock isn't on)

Maybe mute 'beep' or 'speaker' in alsamixer, worth a try.

Try xset -b or disabling it in BIOS.
