Locate mouse pointer

I recall a setting under Windows where I could press Ctrl to see an animated highlight at my mouse cursor. I searched for something similar, and found a few sites explaining how to enable this under GNOME by adjusting settings. There is no built-in equivalent to this in #! Waldorf. Any ideas what I can install for this? I have a 23" monitor attached to my 14" laptop, so the screens are different dimensions, and so I often lose the mouse or get it stuck on the edges between the different dimensions.
