Waldorf has replaced Xubuntu

Just recently replaced an older Xubuntu 11.04 install, with #! Waldorf (w/XFCE), on a fairly new desktop PC.

The performance gains are incredible, from startup to shutdown, and everything inbetween. Although I won't get into the specifics, unloading the *buntu middle man really makes a difference.

Installer worked great and system working flawlessly.

Well, almost flawlessly...a small HP printer foomatic hplip error, but I'll get it going.

Again, really nice work and "thanks" to corenomial.

Re: Waldorf has replaced Xubuntu

Welcome to #!.  Not only is #! a terrific distro, but you've now become a  part of one of the most knowledgeable and fun forums on the web.  I see that you added xfce on top of Waldorf.  I did the same when I came over from LM, but I'd encourage you to spend some with Openbox.  It's light, fast, and extremely configurable.  See ya round.

Re: Waldorf has replaced Xubuntu

Thanks mikhou.

Will do, with regards to openbox.

The "senior citizens" in the family tree will stick to the "familiar" XFCE. Change is well....you know. lol

Take care.
