As discussed elsewhere, I have uploaded an 'oracle-java7-installer' package to the repository. I have tested it on my own system and it seems to work okay. I had an issue with Minecraft, but it was well documented elsewhere, so no real problem. Anyhow, the package is now available, so if anyone wishes to test it, please feel free.
oink! oink!
P.S. My minecraft launcher script:
#!/bin/bash
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-oracle/jre/lib/amd64"
java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -jar ~/.minecraft/minecraft.jar
exit 0Offline
oracle java 7 has always worked well in last 3 wheezy builds, I just drop the oracle java7 tar.gz in the /usr/lib/ and run tar zxvf on the file, create a .so in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ and done. I use it to load a boxed .jnlp trader platform.... never had a issue
