New to #! but, not new to *nix.
This was the first of 3 distros I tried to install on a Acer Aspire 5739G that recognized the WiFi card and connected to my home network without any headache or issues. Aside from entering the WiFi passcode, that was all I had to do! So for that, Thank you!
While I've enjoyed working through issues and troubleshooting in the past, recent changes in life (all good changes.
)have me looking for certain things to "just work". I'll still add apps/services I'd like to use though. I appreciate the 'light-weight' aspect of #! as well. The desktop just works.
I'll post when I can in the forums, hopefully not just questions but, maybe I can help as well.

Thank you for a great distro!

hi... this an extra nice community !!
wellcome
What we wanted to preserve was not just a good environment in which to do programming, but a system around which fellowship could form. We knew from experience that the essence of communal computing, as supplied by remote-access, time-shared machines, is not just to type programs into a terminal instead of a keypunch, but to encourage close communication. -Dennis Ritchie

VWGT, welcome to #!
I too have to deal with that overpriced operating system that masquerades as a virus in my job, but whenever I'm home, you can frequently find me on my computer running a modified #! installation (I replaced Openbox with Xfce -- long story).
Just who is General Failure and what's he doing reading my hard drive?

Welcome to #!
I have two machines made by Acer, and always had an easier time with hardware recognition in #! as opposed to Toshiba. Hard to argue with what works...
