Hi, I'm a long time never-improved Linux fanboy here since the last Mandriva. On and Off with Linux, gave up many times. Nothing has ever satisfied me with interface except here, right now in #! Ubuntu can go all out with their 3d interface but #! is... can't describe it. Honestly. I know a descent amount of web programming so it really helps to be comfortable with some manual tweakings
I've always dreamed about writing applications for my own pleasure, recreating the desktop even if in the most superficial way, the satisfaction can't be describe. Only those who were born doing things the hard way on the PC would understand. I used to skin and code a lot in the late 90's. Something in my head has been telling me to go back to that path, but somehow #! is the place I felt like restarting all over again. I had been using Ubuntu, openSUSE, Mint, Puppy & a few others and mostly Windows but... I don't like them.
I don't know what I'm trying to say actually but my real purpose to write in here is to ask what is the best Post-Install activity to look forward to, tweakings that can be done (like editing the Conky, putting widgets, etc), great apps to download and so on. For the time being, trying to figure out how to configure LAMP from ground up ('',)
Regards from Borneo,
Bert

Welcome to #!
I think we all know about the frustration of never getting it quite right, just that one dumb thingie out of place that drives you nuts and everybody else ignores. The Windows world thinks we're actually Mac users, the Mac users know we're Linux geeks because we're the only group more passionately smug about an OS than they are.
