During the 8.10 release I began creating artwork packages containing all my artwork for that release. With 9.04 I'm releasing a new package with new artwork in it designed for that release. Details of how to obtain both are detailed below. Both packages should work on either release but each is designed to go with that release.
9.04.01
Here is my new artwork package for 9.04.01. Contains wallpapers, bmpanel themes and a gdm theme. All these are either reworks of more popular artwork from 8.10 release plus some new stuff designed for 9.04. I haven't included the crunchbang-flames-new wallpaper in this package as it is now in the default crunchbang artwork package. A new set of unbranded flames wallpapers can also be found here http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic … ollection/
If you have the Crunchbang repos enabled (which you should by default) you can install them by running the following in a terminal:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install omns-artwork-9.04or download the package from here http://crunchbang.net/packages-9.04.xx/ … .1_all.deb
8.10.02
Can be installed by running the following in a terminal:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install omns-artwork-allor download the package from here http://crunchbang.net/packages-8.10.xx/ … .3_all.deb
Updates to these packages are announced in this thread.
Enjoy

Awesome work on creating the package omns! It is much easier to download and install the package as opposed to having to download all the individual tarballs and images. Keep up the great work!

Sterling work omns! can we have this thread a sticky so all the new crunchers will be aware?

Where is the crunch repos? I searched for it in the sources.list file, but could not find anything.
Offline
The packages in the repo are at http://crunchbang.net/packages-8.10.xx/pool/main/
You 'll find the repo information for apt in the folder /etc/apt/sources.list.d

ahh the other file. I knew i should have taken a look at that file ^^
Thanks for the info.

So... I installed the package.
But where are the wallpapers?
Offline
In the main menu look at Preferences-->Choose Wallpaper
They are installed to /usr/share/backgrounds

hmm, there shouldn't be a problem with the crunchbang repo. It's there by default with the relevant security keys already installed.

Can anyone help with this error?
W: GPG error: http://crunchbang.net 8.10.xx Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY CBF7B2D9FC2682F1
This is strange.
Are you receiving this message on a CrunchBang installed system, or have you added the repository to another Ubuntu based install? Either way, if the key is missing you should be able to add it to APT with the following command:
wget -q http://crunchbang.net/crunchbang.key -O- | sudo apt-key add - && sudo apt-get update?

Thks omns.

hi omns,
as everybody seem to like stripes, i made some blank-colored-stripe wallpapers on gnome-look http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=95070
preview:
you can use omns walls with the Gimp to colorize your desktop

Nice work arpbook
I don't know how you made these stripes but for future reference you may find this site useful - http://www.stripegenerator.com/
It will make a small striped tile of any description that you can then import into Gimp to make wallpapers with.

thanks omns
i use inkscape, and make a reflected linear gradient between two colors (black & primary color), after exporting bitmap, i modify it with the gimp to adjust transparency and tint.
thanks for the link
, it's funny to play with those kind of web-utils

^ draze, try
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install omns-artwork-allOffline
If ^ that ^ does not work, it should be noted that omns' artwork package is only available via the 8.10.xx repository. If you are running a previous version, you can download the package directly from: http://crunchbang.net/packages-8.10.xx/ … .3_all.deb
