Minimalism

Hi.

#! seems kinda kickass.

Glad I've fell upon it after several disappointments.

Re: Minimalism

Awesome ... another happy cruncher n da world. Am sure it makes Corenominal feel good when he comes across posts like this. Welcome to the minimalist #! Express. Also think #! is a fine example of less being MORE. As always happy computing peeps. smile

Hiya kg too, glad to see many of us are enjoying the Bang! smile

Some common cbiz abbreviations. This will save me time and yet @ same time tell folks what the babble is supposed to mean.

Re: Minimalism

I'll just go ahead and jump in on this one instead of making a new thread.
Been using #! for several months now.  At this point I think I have it running on all of my machines.  I guess it's safe to say that I'm now a user, so I figured I might as well get registered.
The only problem I've experienced was an odd issue that prevented me from mounting external drives as a regular user.  Reverting back to GDM instead of SLiM was the simple solution.
I'm very supportive of the decision to base the latest #! on Debian instead of Ubuntu.  I'm too poor to be able to afford the latest hardware, and I'll take stability over bleeding edge every time.  I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed to this distro.  Yall have done a fine job at giving us normal folks an OS that just works.

Yeah, I knew Corenominal was the lead guy.  I didn't think he was all by his lonesome though.  You mean to tell me this is all a one man show?

Re: Minimalism

Well, #! itself is a one man show, but #! is built on Debian, which is made by the blood, sweat, and tears of thousands of devoted developers and contributors.  It's a good combination I think.

Been working with netinstall... it is a powerful tool and fast way to setup a pure Debian base...  I can do it in my sleep now...
