Network connected on Live CD but not found on install

Using the LiveCD, Crunchbang found both Ethernet & wireless drivers.  However when I tried to install neither could were detected.  The Ethernet driver "atl1c" and even when selected it will not accept.  The same thing occurs on a Debian 6.0.3 install too.

I was very impressed with Crunchbang on the LiveCD but disappointed I could not install.  Is there a work around?

Re: Network connected on Live CD but not found on install

The atl1c kernel driver comes with the #! November 2011 isos. Is that the version you tried to install or was it the February 2011 version?

Re: Network connected on Live CD but not found on install

I'm using the latest version from the site.  As live CD it works fine but simply will not install.  The driver is in the list but just will not take, an issue from debian.

Re: Network connected on Live CD but not found on install

Can any crunchbanger using that kernel module confirm/deny ?

I am on #! November 2011 and the kernel module is installed:

┌─[17:18:57]──[xaos52]──[crunchie]:~$
└──>>find /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/ -iname "atl1c.ko"
/lib/modules/2.6.39-bpo.2-486/kernel/drivers/net/atl1c/atl1c.ko

and I have not installed it afterwards - checked /var/log/apt/history

Re: Network connected on Live CD but not found on install

You mean during the install itself? In my case, the debian installer sometimes fails at setting up an IP address via dhclient. What i do then is select the option to try again, and it works.

Re: Network connected on Live CD but not found on install

I just keep hitting Ctrl+C during the Network detection until it gives up and skips to entering a hostname.  The rest of the install is smooth as silk and I set up my network after the first boot, before I run the CB-welcome script.
