Hi guys,
I just love #! too much to not post and ask for a solution...
I tried other posts I tried the web but couldn't find the solution for this problem. I almost always have problems with this on my dell 1555, either the fan won't stop turning, or problems with my wireless (Broadcom). I was pleasantly surprised that #! actually worked without having to install any windows driver thingys.
Usually I just move to another distro, but I really don't want to this time...
I think it has something to do with the ATI drivers.
I tried using the package manager to install fglrx-driver but it asks for xorg-video-abi-6.0 which I can't find anywhere.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks a bundle

Ok, I never got that to work...
I left CB, but I'm back
This time I got it to work only by using the 64bit pro download
I used this driver:

Which set of instructions did you follow, those provided by R41z3N or those provided by FiniteStateMachine? I have a Dell Studio 1557 and the fan runs constantly whenever I run CrunchBang or SystemRescueCD, even from a thumb drive.

By the way, you should mark this as solved by editing your original post and change the title to:
