hey omns, good for making a post like this. i remember some time ago i suggested this to someone and they said they didn't even know it was possible to donate. i only found the donate-button myself by accident while landing on some page on the site where i did not mean to go (usually just go right to the forums).
aside from support, let's not forget the most important reason i donated: i wanted to have my name on that list and have eternal fame.

Finally donated some, I really liked the video at the end, added a personal touch.

Did it auto send you to the video?
I did not see it until corenominal sent me the link

In the video, I think Philip got the same notebook as me.

Hey guys, thanks for this thread and the donations. As you will have seen, Philip is setting up a new CrunchBang website and I've been nagging him like mad to get his backside on here to explain more about what he's doing and the direction that he wants to take CrunchBang in, but he's just really busy at the moment doing it!
He will be on here soon to explain all soon - he has promised me!

Well, at the paypal page (when you finish killing pennies) you can click a link that directs you back to crunchbang.org, the page with the video.

Thanks Andreas...
I exited PayPal right away and did not see it... I had a bad experience once with PP refreshing so I get the heck out of there now when I am done...

Does the #! start page still generate adword funds back to the project?
Congratulations, you've figured out the sound of one hand clapping...

thanks Andreas, i'd never expect a video-link to be there, so that is why i never noticed it i think.

Thanks, Omns, for the nudge. Been loving for #! for a couple of years now--it's definitely time to kick in a little something again. Happy Thanks-giving, all!

Just donated again.
Didn't realize Papanominal quit his day-job to concentrate on CrunchBang (and other projects, I assume) full-tme.
Strange thing: Not that it matters, but on the two occasions I've donated (first was a year ago via the old donate link and second was just now) I've never seen any option to key in my #! forum id/username in the payment page (or whatever Paypal calls it), nor was I shown or sent any video after that. It's fine as long as Philip receives it though, which the receipt confirmed.
Also,
I truly hope Philip doesn't actually use every cent donated on Crunchbang. I'd feel much better if he used some of it to grab a pint of lager every now and then. Think of it as your mates buying you a beer or something. That's only my opinion, though.

Donated -- wish I could donate more (and, yes, go ahead and buy a pint from time to time as well). I'll write this up on the blog and try to get some folks in North America to kick in. rstrcogburn is right -- I know where some of my Xmas money is going . . . .
