I think they're typically cached to /tmp with some cryptic filename, but...
Within Iceweasel/Firefox, you can use an extension like Video Downloadhelper to grab flash videos, including those on Youtube. This extension usually gives the video a semi-reasonable filename automatically.

If I want to download something from Youtube, my tool of choice would be filsh.net (.. as far as I know it's not offending the law - if I'm wrong, please delete this posting or the link. Thanks!)

You can use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo … wnl-10137/ firefox extension also, it worked great on windows.
It puts a small button under the video window and you can choose the format you download the movie, it only works with youtube though, not with other video sites.

^ is used to use that on Windows, it is indeed very good. i'd rather do simple stuff like this from the command-line so i now use youtube-dl.

Flash-got's pretty good. It's made by the same guy behind NoScript which is awesome, and is pretty popular on addons.mozilla.
Anybody know about Hulu downloaders? I seem to remember something about a CLI one.
