Crunchbang wall stencil wallpaper

Here's a dark wallpaper with crunchbang painted in some stencil lettering. This one was a little more tedious than most of my others. It was done 95% in Inkscape with the rest of the time spent in the Gimp getting the spray painting brush I needed. I think it turned out okay once I added some concrete texture to it.

Re: Crunchbang wall stencil wallpaper

Very cool! smile
And as usual very talented.

Let me just say that I really like this one a LOT!

The only thing I would wanna change is the floor/shelf, it doesn't really blend in, mostly due to the lighting I think...
...and on closer inspection, neither does the first sprayed on letter, it sits partly in the shadow, but it doesn't appear to do so.
Then one could argue, that if the spray paint is splattered around the squares on the wall, shouldn't the paint cover the edges on the masks lying on the floor/shelf.
Don't take these poi, the only reason it becomes visible is because it's so close to perfection that these very small details stand out.

Re: Crunchbang wall stencil wallpaper

Zwopper - all very valuable criticisms. Thanks. I've addressed a couple of things that you mentioned and posted a 2nd direct link to it:

- while I think the sidewalk portion must be a different tone, I lowered that portion's layer so that the shadow/light area on the left end of it looks more realistic (I think).
- you are right about the letter stencil paint. I didn't want them come out completely blue, so I was a little shy on the paint there. I've redone the painting on the stencils and was a little more generous at the corners.

I think it looks better now. Thanks again. Here is the revised one:

Re: Crunchbang wall stencil wallpaper

Very nice smile the slight hint of blue matches in well with the small amount of colour we have in the tango icon theme. A nice balance smile
