By my reckoning it has just ticked over to June 1 UTC. I'll be starting each thread by UTC from now on.
A great month in May. As always lots of interesting discussion and many new desktops as well from new members. I'm really looking forward to this month

Please continue to use thumbnails linking to the larger image to help those of us with slow connections. An example of the code needed is below. Most image hosting sites will automatically generate this for you as well. I've been using postimage.org lately which does a nice job.

Oh bummer - I look forward to that one odd day month and you go all UTC on us.
{sigh} What's an old guy got to look forward to any more!
Don't take me seriously, my mother didn't!

No changes for me, I made something I can live with last month. I can't wait to see what everyone else has done though!

Well, I got this finished up near the end of the month, so I figured I'd wait for the new thread. It's not drastically different from the screenshot I posted in my Window Maker thread a couple weeks ago, but I added textures to the titlebars, icons, and menus, so I figured I would post some new screenshots.

Lol, what year is that desktop from?

You don't like it, then? I got the wallpaper from this thread, and I thought it would be neat to build a theme around it. It was mostly just practice to see if I could get the textures to look OK, because I don't have much experience with GIMP. Plus, I kind of like the retro look.
I guess I'll try to make the next one more modern and keep up with everyone else, but I can't promise anything since I have limited (basically 0) experience with image editing and design.

No no sorry the wallpaper is fine; it's just the dock. Nevermind now I just feel like a jerk. Sorry to be a partypooper!

A brownish gtk with red textured icons would be killer though!!

Literally just installed #! yesterday... I've found it so easy to config and use I figured I would share my first screen capture.
Welcome! I hope that VM is purely for trying out various malicious malware and virus infections ;P </jokes>
p.s. using image hosts give thumbnails and clickies to enlarge screenshots. See Post #1
howto: encrypt home | backup | make games | donate to #!

True. The GTK theme could match better, especially the icons. I don't remember seeing anything on deviantart or box-look that matched, and I'm not sure of exactly where else to get icons. I know I found a site through a post in this forum that had some icons, but I can't quite remember the name or if any icons matched my theme. If I knew how to use GIMP, I'd try making some, but I really wouldn't know where to start if I tried right now. I'm not sure how long I'm going to be keeping this theme. I tend to use a single theme for a long time, but I'd like to experiment a little more with Window Maker's theming capabilities, so we'll see what happens. If I make it match better, I'll post more screenshots, or if I completely change it up, I'll post some screenshots of that.

I really love your conky, looks beautiful.

Nice theme color. Hmm, giving me some inspirations to play again with gtkrc and ob3 theme with magenta/fuchsia color.

Endless Dissent, I think you should be able to use icons from GNOME-Look or Xfce-Look on Openbox. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, though.
And Replicant, I think we've all posted stuff online that we've later regretted. 2 years ago, I posted a very inflammatory status message on Facebook that cost me about 15 friends or so, so don't feel bad. I have since come to the conclusion that they never really were friends to begin with. Naturally, I deleted that and apologized and left Facebook for several days until my wife pressured me to get back on Facebook. Naturally, I've been very careful to not post anything like that again (I can, of course, be VERY opinionated and bullheaded LOL).
Just who is General Failure and what's he doing reading my hard drive?

Endless Dissent, what about these?

You're getting boring, omns
Guess you could say the same for me; still compiz standalone with the same old theme and the same old wallpaper and the same ol... no, new icons!

Seeing as my only change now and then is my wallpaper, that statement would be entirely correct

What? You changed wallpapers?
EDIT: This happens sometimes when I switch viewports on Compiz++:
Nice way to browse the internet, huh?

Endless, I like that textured look a lot, nice work.
Unia, gperfection is my favorite icon set! That version won't really work with Linux any more though, one should use art-pixmap-stuff. I have a version which adds a few missing icons here...

gutter, I especially want to know what that term color display thingy is, you currently have it showing rectangular ying-yang doohickeys and in the past it's shown "sex sex sex sex sex sex";^)
-edit- D'oh! Forgot to say many thanks to muzieca! Now I'm off to investigate gutterslob's latest playlist...
