Hi to you all

Just figured out my old pcmcia card with the new Statler.
The pcmiamutils needed to be installed! Now my 1998 laptop is connected!
I was using Arch on it but it got too buggered up to be useful and it was time to change distros:rolleyes:

i really like #! so far. Nice nice all around.

Can you tell me what the pop up box with the Mr. potato head and snarky comments is about?

Re: Hi to you all

Welcome to the forums and sorry to hear about Arch.

As for the popup, if you want to disable it look at this thread:

Re: Hi to you all

Hi again!

I am not wanting to get rid of the pop-up just yet. Is there a story behind it? Just wondered...

As for Arch it is working pretty well on 2 other computers(desktop&netbook)it just is too much work for me to twiddle around with on 3!

The pcmciautils thing did take some digging around to find out about, but I'm happy it was in the end an easy fix.

Thank you again!:D

Welcome to #! smile

The pop-up is an homage to a Muppet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statler_and_Waldorf

As it it's purpose... um... you'll find we really like Muppets, but quoting Animal is like quoting Iron Maiden.
