Live-CD- X is 'Out of Scan Range'

Hi, all!

I've just come back to #! after a while playing with LMDE. I downloaded the latest 32-bit torrents 9 (xfce & ob) and unfortunately when X started, my monitor told me I was 'out of scan range'. I tried the failsafe boot option and I got the same thing.

It looks like I have an ATI Radeon RV200 QW [Radeon 7500] card and that the 'radeon' driver is loaded also it says something about fb0: radeondrmfb frame buffer device, when I look at dmesg

Has anyone managed to overcome this so that X displays correctly?

BTW, I'm using a Sun GDM-5410 21" (CRT) monitor.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers,

Chris.

Re: Live-CD- X is 'Out of Scan Range'

is the X server trying to output an unsupported Resolution? on a few monitors ive used, if its an unsupported resolution i get an "out of bounds" error or something like that.

I guess so. I think I need to reconfigure X, but in the Live environment, it would be easier to pass something to the kernel at boot time.

Thanks,

Chris.

check out these two links, more the second one than the first as it is actual commands you can pass to the kernel at boot time maybe there is something in there.

Many thanks, I'll have a look.

Cheers,

Chris.
