Re: realtek sound not working

Just to cover the bases, I wanted to make sure that you hit Super+V to open your volume controls, and selected the controls to adjust the speaker output?

Does sound come through headphones?

No problem.  I believe mine was turned all the way down on a fresh install so that is why I wanted to ask.

I'm wondering if you still needed to install the ATI drivers or if the sound would have worked out of the box?  It seems like the default kernel supports a lot of hardware.

Re: realtek sound not working

^ This keeps popping up. hmm  Same in the Statler alpha releases, and I seem to remembet this was the case in 9.04 as well.  It's a minor annoyance, but I wonder why the mixer channels aren't automatically enabled & turned up?
