[Resolved] Apps not working

First off, I'm new here and I am loving #!Crunchbang. On to the stupid question, I can't seem to get any apps to run, other than what is shipped with the distro. I have tried handbrake and mplayer. They seem to install fine, but they will not run. I have done a full update on my system and reinstalled them several times to no avail. Help please.

thank's
Bill

Re: [Resolved] Apps not working

Try running the programs from a terminal (Terminator) and see if you get any errors/output.

This is what I get trying to start handbrake.

ghb: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkhtml-3.14.so.19: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Re: [Resolved] Apps not working

Exactly how did you install it?  Through Synaptic, or apt-get, or just get the tar.bz file?  If it was installed properly, it should have the necessary libraries.

Re: [Resolved] Apps not working

Thank you! I tried to apt-get the missing file, it said no such package. I tried again with the package you named and now all is well. Thanks again.
