If it is possible, you would need to go to the /usr/bin directory for the program executables on the Ubuntu partition. I've never actually done what you are intending to do, so this is just a guess on how to.
Thanks for all the welcomes, everyone.
Arch is one of my favorite distros. I just wanted something a tad more stable (not that it has ever broken for me; I just don't want that possibility because it's bleed edge) and more polished. The one thing I didn't like was in Openbox, Firefox, etc. would use the Redmond-like theme, all blocky and gray. That's just a nitpicky thing though and doesn't change my view on the distro. It's just an Openbox thing when it's vanilla.
I came to #! because I wanted something just as fast with Openbox, but stable and already put together.
@bobrossw You should really try it, even if it's just in a VM. It's a great project with a great philosophy. Just be prepared to tweak everything because it's a minimalist install. That's one of the big pluses. If you can't get it the first time, try installing it several times so that you know the installation better. The only thing I can't remember every time is the exact command for adding your user. It's something that grows on you and I don't really need help with the installation because I've installed it so many times. Not bragging, just saying it gets easier.
Of course, I don't know your experience with Linux, so I may just be saying stuff you already know.
My first distro was Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx last spring. My Linux journey has been relatively young compared to most people, but I'm glad I've made the jump. I stayed with Ubuntu for a few months and then began my long adventure of distro hopping which led me to CrunchBang.
So I'm fairly new to #! itself, but not to Linux in general. Even though I haven't used it even a year yet, I think I'm pretty proficient with it. I'm kind of new to Openbox, but not quite. I don't know much about the config files themselves, but I'm past the point of learning the basic GUI. I'm still using obmenu and such for settings.
I've distro hopped quite a bit in the last few months trying to learn as much as I could and find the right distro. I've gone all the way from the obligatory Ubuntu to Arch to finally landing on CrunchBang and everything in between. I decided on #! because I really like that it's based on Debian and not Ubuntu (anymore) and I love the Openbox WM.
I'm going to try to be active on this forum because I think it'd be interesting to be part of a distro's forum that has a great community.
