^ Hey, SalineLinux . .  welcome to #!Crunchbang and the #!Forums.

I tried your OS when it was first out . . . nice.  I mentioned SalineLinux OS a few posts back, in this topic thread.

Of course, you know that #!Crunchbang is based on Debian Squeeze now and, also, comes with the Xfce desktop environment.

It comes with parts of Xfce if I remember correctly but still uses Openbox for window management.  If this has changed would be nice to know but the main page still says Openbox.  Also, I firmly believe basing on testing or sid is a mistake and would like to prove it and we all know actions speak louder than words.  Saline OS was really rough during development the Stable build is polished up and ready for use by mere mortals smile

Edit: About 4.8 It will be added to Saline OS testing after it makes it into Debian Backports.  Saline OS should remain stable enough for my grandmother (Thats the idea anyway).

This thread is my kind of place lol  I am the man behind creating Saline OS and started the project because  I was a chronic distro-hopper and most distros using Xfce are too busy trying to bend it towards their other spins instead of making the best Xfce distro (See Xubuntu and Mint Xfce) . That and I see every other distro moving to Ubuntu as the base and know that any distro with Xubuntu-desktop installed is a poor representation of Xfce. To answer some questions in this thread Saline OS is built on Squeeze and will trail the Stable branch, but has a custom update script that pulls in backports after they have been tested.  This puts Saline OS between Stable and Testing which I believe to be the best balance between stability and being up to date. It is in fact put together using the remastersys scripts; though they have been patched for compatibility with Xfce and its services. Saline OS 1.0 Stable was just released a couple hours ago if you wanna take a look feel free.

As an aside #! is one of the better distros I have ever had the pleasure of using.  If not for my love of Xfce I would probably still be using it now.
