#1 Re: Help & Support (Stable) » Keyboard layout setup in debian » 2010-12-13 01:21:58

Hi. I think I tried almost everything here but there is apparently no way to set up an fr_CH layout.
I noticed that at reboot, #! showed a message saying something like :"no way to find symbols/fr_CH anywhere", just after the "setting preliminary keyboard..." line of the boot output.
Is it possible that the fr_CH keymap would simply not exist on #! statler ?

Oh yeah of course, I should have thought in using an external LiveCD.
I was in the obsession to do everything with my installation.
I mean, I thought I should be able to edit my inittab from a runlevel1 state... But could'nt smile

I guess I'll do it like that !

Thanks

Hi @ all,

New to crunchbang and linux, I'm using it to learn Linux with a book.
During some random experience, I stuck my system in runlevel 1 by editing the inittab file...

Now the problem is that I'm completely unable to use a console in this mode.
It shows me a blue and grey screen that simply pops again when I enter a choice in the menu.

Any clue ?

I could reinstall but I'm trying to learn things so I'd prefer understand what was wrong :)
