CrunchBang Linux

Hi,
       I am a newbie to crunchbang Linux. Can anybody tell me How i can configure VPN and then Remote Connection to my office from #! openbox please? I saw the option of 'Configure VPN' in my Netweok icon on the openbox systray near time/date, but when i select vpn in that, it seems locked with a lock symbol.
