How do I get "compton" on other distros? What is this exactly? A program that I can use with whatever desktop/window manager? (kde, awesome, etc) ?

Hello all,

I have tried installing literally dozens of linux distros. The one thing I never got around with are the video drivers. Open, proprietary, they just don't work as good as expected (local and online videos have some "refresh" problems, where let's say the top part of the video changes 1 millisecond before the bottom part, creating a "sliced" image).

On Crunchbang though, video drivers work wonderfully! Youtube and local files play as good as they did on Windows.

I absolutely need to know what kind of drivers come installed by default with this distro. Can somebody help me? Where can I find all the configuration files present for this distro graphic-related? I need to export these to the other distros I want to use.

I currently have an AMD/ATI graphic card.
