#1 Re: Help & Support (Stable) » weird behaviour with tint2? » 2014-11-13 01:33:28

hi guys,

many thanks for the advice and suggestions.  I am going to stick with tint2 for familiarity,
and persevere with kill & restart as a solution

I do have an avatar, but I haven't had a chance to upload it, though I do like your suggestions smile

As for your question, I primarily use crunchbang on my workstation for, as you might guess, work
purposes.  I believe I ended up swapping out from chromium some time ago, and although my
memory is fairly vague, the reason was because I had a compatibility issue with something I was
trying to work with, and I really didn't want to use iceweasel.

I could try chromium again I suppose, I don't really have anything against it, only that it wouldn't
allow me to do my job properly.

I have to assume that the notification bell moving along the bar gradually is a google-chrome thing,
but interestingly enough, from time to time ive found the clipboard icon follows it along, too.

I haven't changed my tint config since I originally installed the OS, but because I have seen the
clipboard icon following it along, it made me suspicious that it may in fact be more related to
tint2 itself, rather than just something with google-chrome.  Perhaps it juggles along when I get
a new notification, but it is ever so slight enough for me to not even notice until its half way off
the screen!

A curious issue, but I was wondering that maybe someone else might have seen the same thing
also.

hello friends!

recently I have been having an issue with tint2 & chrome toolbar notifications.

It seems that (perhaps some recent update to chrome) that the toolbar notification bell starts
creeping along the tint2 bar.  I am not really sure what causes it, but normally it would sit
neat up along the right hand side along the time, volume, network connection icon.  however,
recently ive noticed that it slowly starts creeping along the left, and upon many days, it starts
pushing the icons of the applications I have open off the screen!

I can easily resolve the issue by restarting tint2, and all of the icons reappear in their appropriate
places.

I was wondering if anybody else was having the same issue?

I am latest stable, and latest release of chrome, if that helps.  not really sure where I should be looking,
other than hoping that maybe another update of chrome at some point might help, but with the
number of issues chrome seems to be having of late, there is probably other priorities here.
