It's everything OpenGL based, games, screensavers, websites using OGL, Google Earth, none of them work, I have been following your advice, always undoing the random fixes I've tried, the issues persist
love bump?
btw how did you install minecraft? aren't there many different versions?
Just launching the vanilla jar file from minecraft.net, launcher works, click play, launcher quits to launch game, window flashes up just before mojang logo appears I get this

Still no luck, I honestly think I'm going to scrap this laptop and go back to the Lenovo W510, everything worked flawlessly with that model. Unrelated, I just trying to installed aircrack-ng which caused a kernel panic before it even installed, laptop wouldn't even turn on after it just beeped at me .. had to give it 5 minutes and try again, urghh, I've had lenovos for years I didn't expect their more consumer/student line to be this shocking!!
Tried uninstalling including removal of ~/.minecraft same issue after reinstall, tried a few fixes after Googling none helped, I can play minecraft okay in the xubuntu live environment which is the only time I've been able to play it properly on this machine. It seems to be a well reported issue and many 'fixes' have been listed but none I've been able to get working
That fix works, I can now change resolution and I'm getting true 1080p but now I have an OpenGL error with Minecraft so it wont launch .. and my OpenGL screen savers no longer work.

I have a Lenovo Z50-70 laptop with #! 11 installed and upto date, problem is the graphics, (wifi too but I can live without that) I can't change the resolution in the usual GUI editor and graphic performance sucks in minecraft (12FPS ish) ... the graphics work as they should when booting ubuntu derivatives from cd and testing live but I really want to stick with #! and I'm at a loss having no idea how to fix this issue, please help ... here are some relevant outputs.
