Hey this is my first time posting on the forums, and I haven't been able to find a working solution in anything that's been posted already.

So basically what's wrong is that I have a Acer c720 running #! through crouton and it isn't properly detecting any displays. It works well enough for the actual built in laptop display but every display I connect through HDMI either retains the laptop resolution expanded cutting off the bottom and right edge of the screen, or maintains the laptop resolution and only uses 2/5 of the screen real-estate on my monitor... I've ran xrandr and all it detects is default and fails to get the size of gamma for the output default. Am I just missing something or am I the only one with this problem?
