hi guys,
got a little problem with drivers for my motherboard. normally you dont need them but my motherboard has killer lan i believe, wel basicly it needs his own drivers if you want to use the lanport. and i don't have wifi so i'm stuck. ASRock doesn't response to my emails and can't reach them by phone-_-. i got a standard message saying i need to go to the vender for support. the vender ofcourse doesn't know what this is all about. please help!
i saw a video about the discard and noatime on ubuntu but he used sudo gedit. it doesn't work what to do now?
can someone help me how to add the discard and the noatime option for my ssd? i completly don't know how to do it. there is some stuff on the debian wiki but i still don't know what to do. can someone give me lines i need to fill in the terminal?
thanx great help:)
hi guys i really need some help. (newb)

i want to have something like this
ssd
1gb boot
40gb root
50gb blender
160gb ssdgames
hdd
20gb swap
50gb /var
500gb /hddstorage (i want to split this in 3 differnt ones named /hddstorage/drivers /hddstorage/hddgames and /hddstorage/hddfiles
430gb /home
i dont know how to do the split and i also dont know which needs to be logical and which needs to be primary. and do i need some other settings for ssd like E- discard. i don't know if i need drivers for my ssd and hdd.
i have 2 partitions because i want my most used games on my ssd and older and not that big games on hdd. so i can skip /var? or i need to make a file on the hdd and call it /hddstorage and make /hddstorage/files and /hddstorage/hddgames
hi guys, i setting partitions on ssd and hdd. i got
boot 1gb
50gb root
50gb for blender
150gb for games
50gb /var
20gb swap (its a lot idc)

blender, gpu drivers, steam. I think i got it with making maps. like you create your /home, i can create a /steam map like for example 10gb and install steam there. create a /games on the hdd en install my games there, right?
but i still don't know one thing. for example i download my drivers from amd.com using ice weasel. were does ice weasel store the download? and how can i change that? and when i download the drivers. how to install them?
i got an older 8 year old system with a 160gb hdd. i think i gonna try a bunch of stuff there. 512mb ddr and a single core pentium:) that thing rusn on 3volt. that's crazy!
thanx for the info. but i still don't know how to to install programs onto hdd and a other to sdd. like i download the gpu drivers with ice weasel, but how can i choose which map to install?
hi guys,
new to #!, i tried arch linux first but i had problems with connecting to the internet and the wiki is pretty shitty. i found #! and i was sold:). i have it installed now to try it and i'm in 10sec in the home screen:) windows takes me 2-3 min lol. i really want a good setup now and use #! as my main os. for linux i have a 250gb ssd and a 1tb hdd. i have a other 1tb hdd for windows and windows games. i really don't know what to do with the partitions. i don't have the w7 hdd connected when i'm using linux.
this is what i want on my ssd:
os
blender
my most played game
this is what i want on my hdd
steam in a separate folder
games in a separate folder. (all games in one folder except the one on the ssd ofcourse)
documents
edited files
gpu drivers, amd catalyst control, rapptr app.
specs:
i5 750 (4 cores)
6gb 1333mhz ram
amd r9 270 (msi afterburner is only windows i think so i will use the one that came with amd drivers.
i got a mid-end gaming pc, i use it for school, gaming and i want to start with editing for fun.
can someone help me to setup? doesn't matter how long it gonna take i got the time for it and don't care to reinstall #!
