Lol, I too! So is this an issue that is affecting everybody or just few people like us? i.e I am asking is this a hardware related issues that happens when the hardware of a specific machine are in certain way or is it a universal software issue in the kernel? My problem is I am really loving Crunchbang on my Little Acer Aspire, but as a traveling business person, I can not live with not being able to connect my mobile devices to my machine and if it goes on like this I have to move from Crunchbang and my machine to something else.
Thanks Tim, so I guess the question is what broke Waldorf that is causing this, because as you mention this is working on other systems and it has on all recent Ubuntu versions. Furthermore I am having similar issue when I hook up my Galaxy note 2. Oddly enough USB keys etc mount automatically.
Works perfectly fine with Ubuntu but not on Crunch Bang:

btw is there a thread on how to boost the Waldorf performance even further by disabling features or replacing default programs? like for instance disabling Compositing, which I just did and it did wonders!!! Or using Midori instead Iceweasel or vice versa etc? I google it but could not find anything.
guys thank you for your quick and good responses I am going to try a few and get back to you with the results!
Yeap, your specs seem to be fine for #!...
Have you tried disabling compositing!? (Under "OB Menu -> Setting")
Also, double check the md5sum of the iso after download and after copy on your install media (usb or dvd).Lastly, it might be that you need proprietary drivers for the GPU, let's see your hardware in more details, please post the output of
lspci -knn
Thank you for this suggestion here is the output:

Kernel driver in use: ath9kI recently had to resort to using my Acer aspire one for good reasons, obviously Ubuntu brought the machine to its knees so I turned to Waldorf. However running any application is painfully slow for instance:
Playing any flash based content on Chorme is not possible this includes Youtube or Putlocker etc
ICEDOVE is very slow, while composing a letter the contact list takes forever to load
While typing in libre writer system freezes over and over
list goes on
I am running the system with 2gb ram, and a 64 GB SSD.
Have I done something wrong when installing the system? should I go back in the kernel version to something older? is Crunchbang a bad idea for Acer Aspire one?
Thanks in advance for any contributions.
