Be carfeul if you have installed grub2. The editing is no longer done in menu.lst
Check out my post here, I write about editing grub 2.

Since I customized my menu.lst, it never installed grub2, so it wasn't a probleem for me

Ah.. I see that when I did the upgrade, I never updated menu.lst, so I was unable to boot into the new kernel. So now there's some problem about 'splash' not working, so I'll edit that part out of the grub menu and then I should be g2g.

So all my problems are fixed except my ugly log in screen, which I'll get around to eventually.

Anyone know how to get the better gdm log in screen back from 9.04 after upgrading to 9.10? I don't like the new log in screen at all.

Also, I can no longer switch desktops, before I could click on the left or right to get to whatever desktop I wanted, but now it's just one long icon on the bottom. I checked through obconf - the number of desktop IS set to 2.

Also, now my cpu is under a constant >50% load with the command '/sbin/usplash -p -c -x 1024 -y 600' using >97% CPU looking at the output from htop (this process is also not killable). Before the upgrade, I was usually ~9% CPU at idle at opposed to ~55%

Also, upon returning from suspend, the keyboard does not work. The mouse does, though, so I have to switch users, and then the keyboard works at the ugly log in screen, but then once again does NOT work when I'm back at the desktop. Logging out and logging back in fixes this, for some reason..
