well. blast it! virtualbox virtual machine runs dead slow, whilst the host os (waldorf) shows 12.0 mb of swapping.... oh dear, oh dear. perhaps trying the version available from synaptic will work.
exactly. kind of splitting the difference between....hmmmm...Slitaz and Pinguy....no, thats not it...hmmm
installed #! 11 to hard drive on eeePC Friday night. no hiccups on install. OMG the hard drive temperature has never been so low! i thought the cooling fan had broken!
as far as i can tell, EVERYTHING works. what a fine piece of work this distro is! now it's time to install the latest .deb files for virtualbox...
bartered for it, but i believe they got it on newegg or amazon....
if only a battery upgrade was that cheap, the little box would be road-ready.
not exactly the same box, but i replaced the keyboard on my eeepc 1005ha ($12.99 off the internet) before installing Waldorf, and bad behavior of the 7 key vanished. easy hardware fix....
thanks for the cordial welcomes! so far, no results with any of my search engines on the "infected web page" problem. one of these days, i am going to give wolfram search engine a try.
hello, crunchbangers! i'm happy to report that i kicked the windoze habit 6 months ago. Fuduntu was my first install (in virtualbox) on a dell (D620 2GB ram, 3rd owner, extremely high miles). soon followed by installing on hard drive. presently, all 3 of my boxes are running linux, and i hope to install crunchbang 11 on the subnotebook, eeePC 1005ha. i truly enjoy the intuitive, non-circus-looking interface that Waldorf offers. what a breath of fresh air after all the bells, whistles, and colorful screen mayhem of the ubuntu-based distros.
thanks for the advise, sir. (now i'm off to "properly introduce" myself. one of these days, i will actually read the dox/istructions on something....somewhere,
greetings, crunchbangers! i have found crunchbang 11, and my distro-hopping days are over. (probably) the only issue i have had so far is clamav identifying my hushmail account as "infected page". what gives? i know they have rolled over to the (rhymes with BSA) snoops, but this is confusing me. any ideas?
