Hello, compaq615,

Today I've install #! too on Compaq CQ61 and face the same problem - no sound.

For me solution was:

1. Update the ALSA to 1.0.21 (Here is nice step-by-step)
2. Add next strings to your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf :
   

options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
