Now, it just goes back to the original error I got in the first place. Even after doing the recommended method.
Stuck at, sysenter_do_call. :S
The installer uses a chroot for some aspects of the installation procedure. Should the install environment exist in a way that is unexpected by the installer, some of the essential configuration of the OS to be installed may be incorrectly placed/configured. This could result in the installer reporting a false success, and may be responsible of the erroneous behaviour reported in the OP.
(try again using this way.)
Ok, I did that, and this time, I just see a black screen with a blinking underscore.
I never even make it into GRUB. When I hit a key, my computer quietly beeps.. O_o

I'm ready to give up at this point. It seems no one has a clue what's going on, and my constant searching is to no avail.
Is anyone able to help me? I notice there is an option to type commands in GRUB before I boot.. Is there anything I can do with that that might solve my issue?
This is the recommended way
Ok, but the installer loaded fine, and installed perfectly. So, I fail to see how using a different application to write the ISO to my USB would change anything?
How did you transfer the image to usb?
md5 checksum OK?
I used the ISO I downloaded from here with UNetbootin.
I assumed the Md5 was fine.
I just finished installing Crunchbang 11 32bit, the install went without a hitch (a minor one, I had to install from USB because my CD-ROM died). Too good to be true.
This is my first Linux install (I ran Ubuntu as dual-boot before).
But every time I try to boot (I unplugged the USB and changed my boot order), GRUB loads fine, but when I select my distro I get stuck (at what I believe to be a kernel panic?) at: 'sysenter_do_call+0x12/0x28'.
I cannot type, no keyboard input registers as input.
I have no idea what to do. I can't start switching my hardware around, and I seriously doubt reinstalling will do anything for me (unless I used the wrong ISO?).
Here's a shot of what it looks like for me:

My specs are:
-64bit Intel i7 2600
-Nvidia GeForce 420 GFX Card
-WD 250GB HDD
-10GB of RAM
-Brand: Gateway (Acer)
And it's a relatively new system. I'm in over my head, as I know very little about Linux systems.
Any advice would be appreciated as I've already Google'd the hell out of this. Thanks!
