i'm seeing that my crunchbang install is using 24-hour time, is there anyway to change this to 12-hour?

you could always open your .bashrc and put
if [ -f ~/downloads/CBInfo/cbinfo.pl ]; then
perl ~/downloads/CBInfo/cbinfo.pl
fiat the bottom replacing ~/downloads/CBInfo with the path of the script of course to get something like this
