I know that linux and flash haven't always gotten along especially in the past when your only choice was to install the open source flash or use some hack to install adobe flash. Right now flash is fine for me in terms of video and whatnot.
But I'm asking if any of you have found a way to get flash to work in linux for things that uses 3d rendering. More specifically flash games with 3d engines.
I know this will sound silly, but my wife loves to play farmville 2 and I reluctantly went along with it but I find myself on there several times a day. And I'm trying to break free from windows and while I can play some games in wine, (though not as frequently as I used to) this game is one thing we both share and I want to be able to play with her and still use #!.
I have looked into ways to either boost performance for these flash games or try other ways but somewhere it either doesn't work or borks something else. I have thought to run a browser in wine but I don't know if there is a performance cost associated with that as well.
Anyway, does anyone, or has anyone tried to play these games and found a way to make it perform better?
I'm using the newest adobe flash version, and I use chromium (edited settings to use adobe flash install and not the built in flash).
Thanks for the welcome everyone. So far I'm loving it. I've only had to reinstall once because of a classic mistake I tend to make. Installing too many things and not paying attention to what i'm doing. But it gave me a chance to understand this a little better. I've gotten to where I kind of want to be, just need to find some good themes and tweaks to suit my DE taste. I prefer the openbox environment as I have used fluxbox and bblean through out the years. Tint is the one thing I'm not used to, as a matter of fact I've never heard of it till I installed #!.
Anyway, again thanks for the welcome!
Hello everyone.
New user of #! here but certainly not new to linux. Been playing around with linux off and on since around 1998. Though I must admit that I'm still a noob in some aspects of linux but I make out just fine with most. And plus there are so many documentation online that it's becoming easier to just search for a fix or help.
I've played with many distros over the years that I feel I've used every version of linux from debian to red hat and etc. But debian based distros are were I really feel at home, but I've never found one that I liked well enough to call home so to speak until I came across #!. I really feel like this will be a good distro. And from reading the forums it looks to be a really good community as well.
Anyway, see you around the forums.
