I found a nifty firefox extension for those of us running #! (or any OS with firefox support really) on our netbooks.  It's called meerkat, and it simply streamlines the navigation bar a little, and disappears the status bar when there is no information available.

Personally I kind of wish the bookmarks were handled a little differently.  Mebbe I should get in there myself.

HI!  I'm brand new to #!, and this is my first real run with Ubuntu, or any Ubuntu based Linux. 

I started with Red Hat 5.0 (I think I still have the discs somewhere), moved to SuSE 6.1, then OSX for a long time (made me lazy).  Gentoo, and a derivative or two of that, and lastly Fedora some darn number.  Then just Vista for a while. 

I got an ASUS 1005HA recently.  I put Crunchbang 9.04 Lite on it this morning.  I'm really looking forward to lurking here.

Okay, sorry to pester you guys with this.  How did you get LAN working in #! lite with no gcc installed?
