I'd like to add another solution I've done.
FYI: I'm newbie so I've no idea in depth why this is work , also I'd like to know why.

I've used Debian latest stable (6.0.7) image install in Parallel Mac no problem , but I used the same image in USB to setup in netbook with SSD OCZ Vertex4 unsuccessful , grub impossible to install to MBR even I've tried more than 5 times setup , only I can do is to boot live USB.

last time when I can't install grub to MBR , I have to about setup Debian.
then I use Ubuntu latest (12.04 LTS) image in USB to setup and it detect Debian partition , so I let Ubuntu to become second operating system and also it can install Grub no problem. Until finish setup Ubuntu.

When I boot ,I meet menu to select either Ubuntu or Debian to boot to. Ubuntu no problem I can boot with and enter to window. But Debian it end up at login which ask me user , which it not accept any user and pass that I have done in setup step. So no use for Debian.
After that I use Debian USB to setup again and use whole disk (delete all partition only use Debian os in HDD).

When it come to grub installation. Surprise! It pass by no problem. My guess is Debian grub install is update from existing grub which Ubuntu successful installed.
Until finished setup Debian. I can enter window (GNOME) . Only to found new problem(graphic driver) which is okay at least I can finish setup on netbook with SSD.

I've try after this to delete partition and setup Debian again. Done 3-4 times no problem in grub install again...... so I don't know why.

Conclude:
1. install Ubuntu 1st until finish , Ubuntu can install grub to mbr
2. install Debian either dual boot or only Debian. It will then can install grub. ..... don't ask me why. I'm not expert.
