Thanks guys! Those "insert" hotkeys seem to be enough for now.
Yeah, I know, but I'm using notebook and don't always have a mouse with me, so I prefer keyboard shortcuts. Nevermind, just wanted to know if there's a simple solution I overlooked, but it's not that important. Thanks anyway. : )
No problems, I just can't get used to the copy/paste style of urxvt and stuff, so far. Setting padding is nothing but a matter of aesthetics, and clarity maybe. I'm asking for the sake of curosity, it's strange to me that there's no way to do such a simple thing.
Thanks for the reply. I meant the free space around the window content, but inside the window (so not the window margin). AFAIR this can be achieved in rxvt/xterm with "internal border" property. Like "padding" in CSS.
Unfortunately Terminator doesn't seem to allow this neither, or at least I can't find it.
Hello,
enlighten me please, is there a way to set internal margins in any terminal emulator except rxvt (and *term, perhaps)? I've been looking for such option in xfce4-, gnome-, konsole, tilda &c, with no success. I managed to configure urxvt the way I wanted, but for other reasons I'm not really comfortable with using it, so I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Pretty comprehensive guides.
Thanks a lot!
After many years of struggling with programming under windows (didn't want to abandon photoshop and stuff) I finally switched to linux a couple of weeks ago and I love it.
I'm using xubuntu now, but I decided to join crunchbang as I found this place really friendly and high quality and tips provided here have already proved helpful to me more than once.
