#1 Re: Help & Support (Stable) » Can't remove GDM » 2009-07-23 08:28:51

M.

I've tried it, but it failed.
I can call MOC in my Login-Shell, also the Alsamixer. But when I start Alsamixer or MOC under X, it is still the same game. Hm.

Alsamixer:

function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory

When I reinstall GDM, everything works fine.
I've done this at a fresh updatet Chrunchbangliteinstall, and i've only removed GDM.
Should I try it with a normal Chrunchbang?

SRY 4 bad english.

I want to

apt-get remove gdm

but when I do this, my MOC didn't work:

~$ mocp
Running the server...

Trying ALSA...

ALSA lib conf.c:3513:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_card_driver returned error: No such file or directory

FATAL_ERROR: Server exited

and I also can't take things from my plugged in SD-Card  (it only works, if I start pcmanfm with gksu):

Hallo Kuno,

Hi,

yesterday i have installed Chrunchbang on a Eeepc 901. Everything works fine. I'm really happy.
But there is some trouble with my mouse. It works, but it is really slow. I know, that something has changed in Ubuntu 9.04s x-Server and this maybe would be also the problem on Chrunchbang. I've tried to fix this by installing gSynaptics and little Script like i know from Ubuntu 9.04. But this didn't work and my mouse goes on slow. Is there any way to fix this?
I also have problems with my Language-Support. Is Chrunchbang only in English or can i get it German?

Big Sry 4 bad, bad, baaaad (: English and thank u 4 your answers.
Thank you = DANKE! (:
Best wishes from Germany.

M.
