I tried again using an external keyboard and it works! Once the initial selection screen (live, boot, mem test) comes on, I press down on the external keyboard, then remove it and I can continue using the arrows on the original keyboard. Thanks!

The machine is a netbook (MSI Wind), so there are no lights to flash.
After it boots in the live environment, I am able to use the keyboard with no problems.

I am currently running Crunchbang 10 on my MSI Wind U100 for the past 2-3 years and loving it (the best distro for this machine).

I am trying to start fresh with Crunchbang 11, so I followed the instructions:
downloaded the 32bit iso non-PAE
used dd to put it on a 4Gb PNY drive
booted the usb

However, in the main menu, I cannot make any selections, so it automatically goes into the live environment.
I am not sure if it is an issue with my keyboard, but pressing up, down, and tab do nothing.

I then tried the lili usb creator and unetbootin, and the issue persists. No difference when using another flash drive either.

Any ideas?
