would upgrading to a newer kernel possibly resolve this, or would that just make things worse?

New to Crunchbang here, installed Waldorf about two weeks ago.
Everything seemed to work out of the box just fine, then one day the wireless began to randomly disconnect. Sometimes I could reconnect but the signal was weak and wouldn't stay connected for more then 30 seconds.
The wireless card I'm using is the Intel Centrino Wireless N-1000. i'm running off a wired connection at the moment.
