What I meant was, how do I run it from dmenu (which you call when your press Alt+F3)?
How can I open a program, such as synaptic and gparted, in dmenu while granting administrative privileges?
I am prepared to live with it. dmenu is cool enough for a little sacrifice.
Terrific stuff! Is it possible to toggle the appearance/disappearance of the dmenu with the same key-bind? Otherwise one would have to stretch out to press the 'esc' key for making it disappear. I hope I'm not overly finicky.
I see two of them .dropbox & .dropbox-dist. I'll take some time to figure out the relevant one(s) to delete. All you guys are "someone who actually knows what they're doing". Thanks a ton.
For now, I edited the autostart and commented out the dropbox line. Will "have to wait for someone who actually knows what they're doing"
Does
sudo apt-get purge thunar-dropbox-pluginWork?
Nope!!
minimal and frugal and you are swift as the wind.
I thought I would give Dropbox a try and installed it. And then I found I work only on one station, so what's the point in having it installed. Could you guide me in uninstalling Dropbox? Normal methods didn't work (synaptic).
simple and elegant. thanks. Except that I could not find ways to increase the dmenu panel height and the font size.
dmenu is terrific. I just would like to know how do I change the position of the dmenu to the top and also change the keybinding to Super+space. Any advice would be deeply deeply appreciated.
Nope! I am happy with openbox and am willing to let go of the save-session wish. Thanks for all the help.
@omns. Ha! Thanks for the info. I wont waste my time doing that then. I am happy with this limitation. But in case this distro can incorporate it, it would be wonderful.
Thanks. I have installed the crunchbang-multi-session.deb. Now what? Where should I go to edit the setting among other things?
That was quick!!
By saving a session, I mean this - on re-booting I need to work straight off (usually in the morning) from where I left off (usually at night). The programs that I had opened last time should remain opened on a reboot.
I wish you could provide instructions (or rather incorporate) on how do I go about saving a session. I had followed the advice on another related post - sudo apt-get install crunchbang-multi-session but it could not find the necessary package in your repository.
I am enjoying this tremendous release! Thanks.
