Greetings and Salutations!

I'm David, I'm a Net Admin for an undisclosed company, and I enjoy in my spare time to frolic with random utilities and tools.

Nice to be here!

Okay, so a friend turned me onto this distro just because he said it was the lowest RAM consuming one he found / used.

I am looking for the most light RAM usage I can find while still having functionality to host "VMWare Workstation". I have a new computer, and I want it to run VMWare. The problem is, I don't feel like installing Windows to run it, or a distro which is going to take up 200-300mb of RAM constantly, as well as have the reliability of a linux distro.

I don't need any office utilities, or anything of that sort. The machine doesn't even need internet access except for updates. All it needs is a GUI which is capable of running VMWare Workstation. Once inside the Virtual Machines, I can host and run my separate machines as I want. I just need the actual host machine which runs on the bare bones of my computer to be reliable and low maintenance.

Any idea if you guys can help me out with that sort of request? (I have a technical background, I'm still new to the whole Linux community though, so please be gentle.)

(Also this is my *second* post, and I am very interested in this!)
