#2 Re: Help & Support (Stable) » xfburn and SCSI writer » 2009-04-04 17:41:48

Hi 'anonymous',

You are right.... I try with Brasero and it works.... wink

It did not explain why Xfburn is not recognized my CD writer, but
now, I have a solution to burn a CD.
So, it's OK for me.... cool

Now, I only have to found how to change the default system menu to start Brasero instead of Xfburn.

Thanks a lot.
Dom

Hi,

I have installed CrunchBang on my laptop some month ago and it works fine big_smile

Now, I try to install it on an old desktop computer. The installation was successful, no problem...
It was what I think until I tried to burn a ISO on a CD using the internal SCSI CD writer.
Xfburn says that no drives are currently available!

I am a newbie on Linux, so I don't know from where to start to found what is wrong.
I saw that there is some problem on Xfburn and it is needed to replace the version by an older one.
But it was messages from more than 1 year. So, is it the solution for me?

My configuration :
- Pentium 933MHz
- SCSI Controller Adaptec AIC-7861
- CD-Rom Writer YAMAHA CRW 2100S (SCSI)

lshw command :
*-cdrom
       description: CD-R/CD-RW writer
       product: CRW2100S
       vendor: YAMAHA
       physical id: 0.1.0
       bus info: scsi@0:0.1.0
       logical name: /dev/cdrom
       logical name: /dev/cdrw
       logical name: /dev/scd0
       logical name: /dev/sr0
       version: 1.0H
       serial: '
       capabilities: removable audio cd-r cd-rw
       configuration: ansiversion=2 status=ready
     *-medium
          physical id: 0
          logical name: /dev/cdrom

Thanks for your help!
(and sorry for my poor english.... roll )
Dom
