Do you find this OS very, very fast?

every other distro that i attempted to use would eventually come to a grinding halt if i was running more than 1 program. #! seems fast even when i'm doing several things at once. i tried ubuntu on this pc prior to #! and it was a little sluggish to say the least.
i'm loving how minimal this os can be.

Hi everyone, I've been a linux user for about 3 years now and never intend to use windows again if I can help it. I've shifted around using various linux distro's on my laptop (ubuntu, mint, pclinux, puppy) until my laptop met it's demise at the hands of a full pint of water (don't ask), however, I managed to acquire a pc that was being discarded at work. Needless to say, any pc my employers might be getting rid of was pretty old. Since then I've been trying to find a distro that works well with my old hardware. to cut a long story short:- I tried lots and eventually discovered #! (with which I'm very happy)

I'm starting to become a little bit more confident with linux but I still have difficulties at times.
loving getting used to editing xml files to change menu etc. (then realising that there is a gui editor for that) getting better at using terminal as well (does that make me a geek?).

I'm mostly here to help me sort out any issues I might run into, but will help others in any way that I can. Look forward to chatting with you all. Colin

For those that are interested i'm running crunchbang 10 on a Dell OptiPlex - GX620 - 512 MB RAM - 3 GHz
