I made it. Totally removed acroread with synaptic then downloaded a tarball from Adobe and installed it.
It didnt work, I mean it didnt print.
After some thoughts realised that the new installation showed me the files I opened with the old installation.
Now my problem is to find the file which has those informations.
When the printing window opens, in acroread, I see the name and the type of the printer but not the status and this, IMHO, is the problem.
Yes I can print everything and with evince I can print pdf files
The situation, atm, is the following.
The only error Ive is that the pdf document doesnt "see" the printer, whatever I select (PDF or EPSON)
Im comparing some config files with another distro but dont see any difference
Hi guys,
Ive problems when printing pdf files.
First of all dont kill me.
When started to configure my printer I saw there was an icon related to pdf files. Deleted it since I thought it was a dummy configuration.
Well, now when I try to print a pdf file I get this error on the terminal:
(acroread-en:3157): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead
and in the acroread printing interface Im asked if the printer is connected.
Any idea?
Thank you in advance
Thank you mates.
It works like a train.
Hi all,
Im having problems with the network manager so decided to install wicd which on other distros never gave me any problem.
Now Im working with a badly patched network system which is the default network manager together with wicd.
What would like to know is the procedure to remove the default net manager and have wicd start at boot.
Thank you in advance
Thank you so much.
Was looking for updatedb and slocate
Didnt know they both were in the same package and with another name. In my other distro locate is a sym link to slocate.
Again.. thank you
Hi all,
Im a new user of crunchbang.
In my previous distribution there were 2 "tools" (updatedb and locate/slocate) which allowed to easily search for files around the whole system (2 HDs and 8 partitions).
Its the first time I use a Debian distro and cant find something which allows me to do the same thing.
I mean... something which allows me to easily find the location of a file. I know that there is the file command but IMHO its too complex
Is there something lke the above tools?
Thank you in advance
