I like to have the OSX window border (where there are 3 traffic lights to maximize, close and minimize a window). So I downloaded mac4lin, untarred/ungzipped the GTK theme into the ~/.themes directory. Then I went to Preferences | User Interface Settings and chose Mac4Lin_GTK_v1.0_RC in the Window tab. I can see the change in the buttons (they are rounded) and in the scrollbars, but there was no change in the window borders.
How can I change the window border?
It's better to place personal themes, icons and fonts in your home dir. They won't be available to other users or root though without linking to /usr/share.
Fonts: ~/.fonts
Icon themes: ~/.icons
GTK and Openbox themes: ~/.themes
Wow, you guys are very helpful. Thanks a lot.
In Jaunty, fonts, icons and GTK themes can be put in directories in our home directories. Crunchbang uses GTK themes and that means I can use mac4lin with crunchbang?
There are 2 questions left:
- dual monitor: should I use xrandr or *randr?
- "cleartype" fonts: how to enable it? or is it enable by default?
Thanks again.
This is my first day with crunchbang, so my questions might sound stupid.
- I look at some posts in this forum and I know that crunchbang supports dual monitor. How could I configure it? My video card is ATI x1300. I know how to use xrandr (but I saw lrandr or grandr ..., and get confused).
- How to not choose a wallpaper? I went to change desktop wallpaper and it seems to me that I have to choose a wallpaper.
- How to install more ttf fonts to crunchbang?
- How to turn on the "cleartype" support?
- Is it possible to change the theme, icons, ... in crunchbang?
I am using Jaunty Gnome but I want to try crunchbang because of its lightweight.
