Problem solved.
I desactivated all power managment features in the bios and I run an infinite loop of a blank mp3 with mplayer to simulate an activity.

Thanks for your help!

I got more information!

I called my mother and tried a couple of things.
Putty in local network was unable to connect to the server.

But then I got my mother to connect the power of the server's screen and to move the mouse, and immediately she told me the clock was at 00:00:45 (instead of 21:47:xx)
After this the connection restarted, on the local network and on the web.

So, is there any hybernate feature on crunchbang?
Could it be a problem with the motherboard battery (because the clock as been reseted!)?

Any idea?

Thanks!

The IP on dyndns correspondsto the IP adresse at my home when the connection is down.
My dyndns-client is set on my routeur (the livebox), not on the server.

Both the ssh and the jdownloader interface don't work (port 22 and 8765).

How can I know if it is a hardware problem?

Hi everyone

I have some trouble with my home server for a while and everytime it's the same problem.

The server is an old computer (cpu: 1333GHz, RAM: 256Mo, IDE HDD) with crunchbang.
What I am trying to do is to manage to control downloads on this server with JDownloader and its web interface.

The web interface uses the port 8765 with a https protocol.

I also use a ssh connection with the port 22 and a WOL Magic Packet Sender on the port 9.

I have opened all these port on the routeur (a Livebox) and I redirected them to the local IP of the home server.

The home server is connected to a switch and the switch is connected to the Livebox.

I eventually use Dyndns to trace my routeur's IP on the web.

Now the problem:
During a short period of time, it worked well. Last night I managed to go on the web interface and to use putty via my smartphone and an other computer, everything was ok. (using the web, not locally)

But this morning, when I tried to refresh the web interface page, nothing, the connection was lost.

"chromium could not load the webpage because xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection."

A friend of mine told me port number higher than a certain number could be changed randomly. Is it true? Could it be the problem?

Before I installed crunchbang on the homeserver, it was Archlinux, and it had the same problem, so I don't think the problem comes from linux.

I hope it is not a hardware problem.

I could ask to someone tonight to check if the homeserver is still downloading.

Does any of you have an idea to solve this problem?

Thank you

(I am French so forgive me for any mistakes, but you can let me know)
