Sorry, I wasn't trying to be hard on you or raging. If it seemed like that, please forgive me
haha no problem
1.8Ghz Pentium 4? Will definitely work
In case of installation give enough Swap (RAM*2)
Thanks for the reply!
Not meaning to be bitchy here, but why won't you just try? IMO there's not much to lose; it'll be lighter than Ubuntu for sure. Without going real spartan, there's not much lighter than Crunchbang. I'm not really the hardware type of guy - especially not with the older stuff - but my parents have an old laptop (pentium 4 3Ghz and 500MB RAM) and it runs pretty smooth (smooth enough for them, at least)
I didn't and wouldn't know that. Its basically why Im asking, but I can understand your rage lol.
That being said assuming those 2 points are true im gonna try it out.
I suspect it will work quite well. Certainly I've run crunchbang successfully on older/slower.
how smooth do you suspect it to be?
Hello everyone.
I Recently acquired An oooold PC from one of my professors, I installed the newest version of Ubuntu but its really laggy. I began to search for lighter Linux distros and came across Crunchbag, Will Crunchbag run well on this system?
Specs
496.6 MB RAM
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.80GHZ
Anymore info needed just ask. Thanks in advance.
