You can find the result of my modification of Obvion-theme here, http://hpaste.org/48983. Like Obvion itself, it is GPL-licensed.

Besides it's still in testing/alpha, so it couldn't work well for some programming languages or so. Give me feedback, please, after you tested it smile

Installation: Gedit > Edit > Preferences > Font and Color > Add > choose the theme-file.

Enjoy!

Well, maybe even darker? wink I mean, the brackground should be black (#000000) (→ not grey) and the text-colors should vary as much as possible.

So, ok; if nobody has such a theme, I'll modify the Oblivion-theme appropriately.

Hi.

I think #! needs a own, dark, and decent Gedit-theme, since this is even the pre-installed editor. By default, among others "Oblivion" is installed which is the darkest of the pre-installed themes, but unfortunately even this theme doesn't fit the #!-style, I think. smile

If you already have such a theme, post it here. Else, we/I could work on such one.

Or do you think it's even unneccessary or this is a bit of a stretch?

I agree. smile

I see, but did you ever try ARandR? wink

GRandR was dropped in the Arch repos for ARandR for the same reasons. I think they both suck, UI wise, but the script saving feature is a big +.

Yep. smile For that reason, I think both terminal-supporters and GUI-people will prefer ARandR.

Well, with LXRandR afaik you farly can't configure as much as with ARandR. Maybe that's the reason why LXRandR seems more user-friendly tongue

Hi.

I suggest to replace GRandR with ARandR as the default XRandR-backend. Reason:

  • ARandR is well-aranged and you can save your settings as a XRandR-command which's really cool!

  • In contrast, GRandR is unneccessarily complex and less functional.

What do you think?
