Got it
Well, seems like the installation was successful, but I've got one more dumb question (cause I'm doing this for the first time): How do I run that program?
That's it! Now it's working
I'm currently in the "making" phase and it takes a looong time. I'll let you know if I was successfull when I'm done
And yes, I tried to install it from the repos and it did work, but without GUI. I don't know which package that is (if there is one) so I thought I'd do it this way
Anyway, thank you very much.
I've checked it but I already have the newest version
One step closer
Now it returns this error:
configure: WARNING: I couldn't find -ltermcap, -lterminfo, -lncurses, -lcurses, or -ltermlib!
checking for rl_set_keyboard_input_timeout in -lreadline... no
configure: WARNING: I need GNU Readline 4.2 or later
configure: error: this is fatal unless you specify --disable-readline
Tried to check for readline-common package, but it says I have already the newest version..?
Hi, I'm quite new to Crunchbang. I need to install gnuoctave to be able to work. So I downloaded it and wanted to compile it but what a surprise that neither
./configurenor
sh ./configureis working. It returns this error:
checking whether we are using the GNU Fortran 77 compiler... no
checking whether accepts -g... no
checking how to get verbose linking output from ... configure: WARNING: compilation failed
checking for Fortran 77 libraries of ...
checking for dummy main to link with Fortran 77 libraries... none
checking for Fortran 77 name-mangling scheme... configure: error: cannot compile a simple Fortran program
See `config.log' for more details.
Do you know what can be the cause or is there any other way to compile it? Thanks
